Peugeot, car part suppliers in Iran confer

LONDON, June 2 (IranMania) - Representatives from the leading French automakers Peugeot Citro?n have begun talks with Iranian industrialists to expand parts purchase as well as seek ways to check the negative impacts of sanctions, an official said.

Mohammad Baqer Rejal, who heads the Association of Iranian Car Part Makers, added that Peugeot representatives are conducting inspections to select a car part manufacturing unit that would undertake production of parts which could be exported as well, Fars reported.

?Senior officials from Peugeot?s purchasing division visit Iran every six months to monitor the manufacturing process, receive reports and provide the guidelines.?

The Peugeot manufacturing site at Iran-Khodro is the largest the French company has established abroad, he further said adding that the company recognizes the Iranian car industry as one it could rely on for producing spare parts.
