WINDSOR'S WISDOM

McLaren boss Ron Dennis has expressed concerns for Lewis Hamilton's privacy, while sports marketing agencies are queuing up for him. How do you think Lewis should manage the trappings of fame and fortune?

I was only thinking the other day how much Nike would pay for, say, a five year exclusive with Lewis Hamilton. $50 million per year? $100 million?

Of course companies like Nike are not compatible with the McLaren sponsorship portfolio, so this deal will never happen. Interesting to speculate in Tiger Woods terms, however.

Ron Dennis is right, of course, to be concerned about Lewis's privacy.

The British press have proved over and over again to be completely incapable of respecting the privacy and dignity of their sporting stars and the case of Lewis will be no different.
