Leaked: BMW 1 Series

Since its introduction in 1966, the BMW 2002 has become something of a legend, combining rear-wheel-drive performance, agile handling and seating for four to create a new niche the sport sedan. That tradition continues with the 128i Coupe and 135i Coupe which gets their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 128i Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre, 171kW inline six-cyinder engine that generates 271Nm of torque and features Valvetronic valvetrain management, aluminum/magnesium contruction, and the elements of BMW's EfficientDynamics system.

The more powerful 135i is driven by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine that produces 223kW and 406Nm of torque from 1400 rpm. Featuring direct piezo petrol injectors, twin low-mass turbochargers and air-to-air intercooling it allows the 135i Coupe to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds.
